Welcome To New Westminster!

New Westminster School District has been providing a quality public education to its residents since the 1920’s and the District consistently ranks among the top public boards in the province of British Columbia. From Kindergarten through to grade 12, New Westminster classrooms boast innovative learning and academic excellence as well as co-curricular opportunities for students. Many New Westminster graduates go on to study at top universities across Canada, the U.S.A, and countries around the world.

The New Westminster School District is committed to ensuring that its students become self assured and self sufficient adults who are wise, caring, creative and flexible and able to live successfully in an ever changing environment.

Organization of New Westminster School District

There are 12 schools in the District: eight elementary, three middle, and one secondary school. The District is currently in the process of planning a NEW! secondary school to replace the existing New Westminster Secondary School building which opened in 1955. The new building will be the largest project of its kind in the history of the Province.

Winter Vacation Office Hours

The International Education Office will be open 9:00 to 2:00 Monday, December 20th to Thursday, December 23rd. The office will be closed from Friday, December 24th and reopen with the return to school on Tuesday, January 4th.  for student emergencies only please call 604.356.4980 or What's App at 604.802.7001.
